Junk Me Ghana
After 10 years of Junk Me’s operations in the UK serving both residential and commercial customer for the removal of unwanted item of furniture, appliance and renovation debris, the company is now expanding its operations to other developing countries in Africa.
Ghana is one of the fastest growing developing countries in the world with the government outsourcing the removal of municipal waste to private companies. Junk Me has since 2016 expanded its operations in Ghana into the provision of municipal waste, trade waste, and the provision of services in the removal of any controlled waste of appliance, furniture and renovation debris.
We recycle over 70% of the waste coming into our Materials Recycling Facilities and are investing in technologies to generate the best results for our customers and communities we work in. we work with local authorities and a wide range of industry sectors to develop waste management strategies which will increase recycling and reduce waste sent to landfill at Kpong in the Prampram district.
In order to increase our recycle percentage we are now investing Plants to augment the separation of waste we collect or remove from our wide and increasing customers. Landfilling waste is not economically sustainable, cost effective or does not meet our environmental credentials. We are acquiring plants and machinery from the UK for installing at our newly acquired site near Prampram off the Aflao/Togo road. All in all this will enable the company meet its zero waste efforts for the year 2018.
